ApSIC Xbench

raise the quality of your translation up a notch
Xbench is a software program that runs automatic tests and provides quality assurance and terminology management as part of the translation and localization process. It offers a simple and efficient way to run automatic tests and manage terminology all in one place.

How does it work?

1. First load the bilingual references from the variety of supported translation tools that improve translation quality.

2. Add common terminology sources from various translation tools, including TMX, XLIFF, Trados and MemoQ, that are displayed in the add terminology window:

Xbench comes with some useful pre-defined quality assurance tests, among them translation integrity, uniformity, numbers, tags and keywords. You can also create your own personal checklist compatible with the project translation language in order to focus and increase the efficiency of the quality assurance test process. For example, in Hebrew there is no need for the Capitalization test.

A (free) plugin installed on the SDL Trados Studio translation tool (versions 2014 and above) enables you to run tests easily and quickly from within the project, without manually loading the files and all the terminology sources.
To benefit from the plugin download the Xbench program. After installing the plugin restart SDL Trados Studio. Note the added Xbench icon: “Run QA in Current Project.
